As a key enabling technology for next generation wireless connectivity, light fidelity (LiFi) is envisioned to support seamless multi-user access. In this work, we propose a novel multiple access scheme, denoted as index TDMA (I-TDMA), which multiplexes users in the time domain in a manner similar to TDMA. The proposed I-TDMA harnesses the randomness of data sequences in order to create a new degree of freedom.  Our results indicate that I-TDMA provides significant spectral efficiency enhancement compared to ordinary TDMA, with minimal added complexity.
