Please join us for the next Edinburgh BioQuarter commercialisation event, sponsored by Maclay Murray & Spens LLP, which features Chief Executive and Chief Scientific Officer Deborah O’Neil telling ‘The NovaBiotics story’.

This free event will take place on Wednesday 24 June in the Nine Building at Edinburgh BioQuarter. Doors open for registration at 5pm with the formalities starting at 5.30pm.

Deborah will give us an insight into the history of NovaBiotics, a leading clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on the design and development of first-in-class anti-infectives for difficult-to-treat, medically unmet diseases story. She will reveal some of the experiences and challenges both she and the company faced - particularly in regards to survival and sourcing funding. To date, the company has raised more than £17million in equity funding.

Deborah founded NovaBiotics in 2004 in order to fully develop the commercial potential of novel antimicrobial peptide therapies as first-in-class for a range of clinically and economically significant conditions.

She has over 15 years’ experience in the discovery, development and commercialisation of natural antimicrobials.

Previously, Deborah held senior research positions at internationally acclaimed laboratories in San Diego and Ghent.

Deborah, who is an immunologist by training, holds a BSc (Biochemistry) and PhD (Immunology) from the University College London.

She is currently the Editor of European Biopharmaceutical Review and a Board member of the Scottish Life Sciences Association & Life Sciences Advisory Board for Scotland.
