Progression of resilience based thinking for critical infrastructure

 

Abstract: A short overview of progress since February 2016 on the potential paradigm shift from protection to resilience for critical infrastructure.

Bio: Dr David Lange is a senior research scientist in the department of fire research at SP Technical research institute of Sweden. His research interests include infrastructure resilience, crisis and disaster risk management, structural engineering, performance based and life cycle structural engineering and structural fire engineering. He has practical consultancy experience in fire safety engineering and risk engineering both in Europe and abroad.

He is the coordinator of the Horizon 2020 project IMPROVER (Improved risk evaluation and implementation of resilience concepts to Critical Infrastructure), as well as the deputy coordinator of the FP7 project CascEff (Modelling of dependencies and cascading effects for emergency management in crisis situations).
