Abstract:  The relationship between light and well-being is long been established. This in part necessitated the stringent regulations involving illumination LEDs and has also influenced the growing field of phototherapy. Visible light communication (VLC) is a technology that transmits data wirelessly using illumination LEDs. This is achieved by varying the current signal that drives the LEDs. This talk will focus on the potential impact of VLC on the expected light quality of illumination LEDs. This is vital in view of the established link between well-being, productivity, mood and light quality.

Biography: Dr. Wasiu O. Popoola currently a chancellor’s fellow at the Institute for Digital Communications, University of Edinburgh.
