open.ed is about Open Knowledge at the University of Edinburgh. Open Knowledge encompasses a range of concepts and activities, including open educational resources, open science, open access, open data, open design, open governance and open development. There are a variety of initiatives across the University that contribute to this agenda, and the time is ripe to develop a more coordinated approach. In order to move this process forward, we are holding a half-day workshop devoted to open.ed, focussing on three areas:
- learning and teaching
- the student experience
- research
Speakers include Will Hammonds (Universities UK), Robin Rice (University Data Librarian), Ally Crockford (Postdoctoral Fellow IASH and Wikimedian-in-Residence National Library of Scotland), Lorna Campbell (Assistant Director CETIS) and James Stewart (Institute for Science, Technology and Innovation).
