This will be brief talk introducing two recent publications: 1) Binary Ostensibly‐Implicit Trees for Fast Collision Detection, and 2) Displacement‐Correlated XFEM for Simulating Brittle Fracture. I'll also introduce two new lines of work on simulating fracture with discrete material points and using physical simulation for enriching facial animation.
